ApplE “Flight REady”

Report to the flight deck of the USS Nimitz and strap in with F-18 fighter pilots for a full-throttle ride through the skies.

This project was a 14m film made for Apple and Media Arts Lab, shot in immersive for the Apple Vision Pro shot on board the USS Nimitz with F-18 pilots, Top Gun instructors, shooters, an admiral, and an XO.

The aerials, shot in partnership with Kevin Larosa, the aerial coordinator of Top Gun: Maverick, took extremely difficult planning and coordination of airspace, seaspace, and maneuvers. This marks the first time the US Navy has ever allowed a civilian helicopter for aerial filming on and around an aircraft carrier.
